Oh ! How much I love pudina/mint chutney. This is something which enhances the flavor of the food you eat. Best served with Chole Bhature, Pakoras, Bread Rolls, Bread Pakoras, Dal Chawal, Gol Gappe, Papri Chaat, Aloo Tikki, Dahi Bhalle, Fritters or Chicken Tandoori in fact just anything and everything.
I normally make a lot of this chutney and store in the refrigerator for good 4-5 days. Pudina/Mint chutney is very simple to make. Takes less than 15 minutes and is spicy and tangy in flavor. My mom makes a lot of chutney varieties and this Pudina/Mint chutney is one of them. Again I thank her for teaching me all these life aka Kitchen lessons 🙂
Ingredients Used :
- 1 small bunch Pudina/Mint leaves washed
- ½ bunch Coriander leaves washed
- 2-3 green chili (as per preference)
- a small piece of ginger (as per photo)
- 1 small onion
- some tamarind (as per photo)
- 1 tsp garam masala
- black/pink salt
Instructions for Pudina/Mint Chutney :
Soak tamarind in water for 5 minutes and then pour into a fine sieve over a bowl. Squeeze the pulp to extract a smooth thick paste and discard the fibres.
Now add all the ingredients in the grinder and make a smooth paste using little water. Also add tamarind paste.
And your Pudina/Mint Chutney is ready to serve. Nothing beats fresh hot pakoras served with Pudina/Mint chutney on a romantic rainy day 😉
